Now retired, he instills the same devotion to protecting and helping others in his current pursuit of inspiring men over 60 to take control of their strength, health, and well-being.
Gerald Fogel, Firefighter
Gerald has had a long and storied career as a firefighter, beginning as a volunteer reserve with the Contra Costa Consolidated Fire Protection District. It was in 1984 that he graduated from Paramedic school and worked for American Medical Response as an Emergency Paramedic. In 1985, he was hired by the Fremont Fire Department in the first-ever class of firefighters/paramedics working on fire engines. Gerald was promoted to the position of Fire Captain/Paramedic and filled special roles like Operations Staff Captain, where he managed special programs supporting the fire department and citizens of Fremont. He assumed the dual roles of firefighter and paramedic, later becoming the station captain while continuing to work as a paramedic.
Gerald chose to remain a firefighter even after his official retirement, signing on with the Foresthill Fire Protection District. His years of professional firefighting experience proved invaluable to the fledgling agency, and he often found himself taking on advisory and mentorship roles.
